It seems a curious effort from Redmond, but if you've been paying attention to the company recently, they have been reaching out further and developing for other platforms. Speaking on the matter, Microsoft's Ronette Lawrence had this to say:
Software has evolved from something that needs to be specific by device, to largely Web hosted and cloud supported — and we think the device someone uses shouldn't matter. We want to bring better experiences to whatever device they choose to use.
Chances are those who are using Android devices are perfectly content with Google's search offering. However, if you're eager to give Microsoft's latest a shot, the app is available for download now.
