Indonesian Android users and music fans, we've got some great news for you today. If you were heartbroken last month by the demise of MixRadio, one of the most popular free music streaming services in your country, and you never liked Deezer, and you hated having to pay for Apple Music because it didn't offer any free tier, you'll be happy to know that there's a new player in town and it's bringing all the big guns to the fight.
Spotify is launching today in Indonesia with a catalogue of more than 30 Million songs including Indonesian music (with playlists curated by local experts) and international hits. All of Spotify's known features should be accessible to Indonesian users, including the Karaoke function and the new Running mode, with the option of choosing between two different tiers.
A free subscription gets you on-demand music streaming with ads on desktops and tablets, but only lets you use the shuffle mode on mobile. A paid monthly Rp49,990 Spotify Premium subscription removes ads, allows for on-demand streaming on all platforms, and lets you save playlists for offline listening. That's significantly cheaper than Apple Music's Rp69,000 monthly membership.
Spotify's blog post has more details about the different payment options available as well as a partnership with local mobile operator Ooredoo which will add Spotify Premium to several of its pre-paid and post-paid plans with the benefit of not counting Spotify data usage toward users' monthly total. Check it out at the source link below.
Put the internet to work for you.
