LG G3 appears set for May 27 debut

Just a day after LG teased that it would launch its new flagship G3 smartphone sometime in the second quarter, it appears that we've now got a more precise date on which the LG G3 will make its official debut.

LG today sent out invitations to an event on May 27. As you can see above, the invitation reads "To be simple is to be Great," with the "G" stylized to look like it was pulled from the G2's logo. It's also worth noting that LG is actually holding events in 6 cities around the globe for this shindig, with gatherings planned in New York, San Francisco, London, Istanbul, Singapore and Seoul.

While the Life's Good crew doesn't come out and say exactly what it's got planned for this May 27 event, it seems likely that the LG G3 will be the star of the show. Not only does the invitation include the stylized "G" from the G2 logo, but the fact that LG is holding events in 6 different cities suggests that the company's got something big up its sleeve.

Previous leaks have suggested that the LG G3 will sport a 2560×1440 display, gold color, flattened user interface and a refreshed set of rear-mounted volume and power buttons. What other features would LG need to include with the G3 to make it a "must buy" for you?
