Mobile Nations Community Update, November 2015

Hope you had a great November! It's time again for our Community Update - wherein we take a look at some of the best stuff that happening around Android Central, Connectedly, CrackBerry, iMore, and Windows Central.

Plenty of great things happening around the network, including our Android History series (I'll tell you more about this below). We've also had some hotly anticipated devices drop, namely the BlackBerry Priv, iPad Pro, and Lumia 950 and 950 XL. New hardware always means great conversation in our forums - so pop in if you have any questions - our members and volunteers will be happy to answer you right away.

Also worth mentioning, as the month draws to a close I hope you take a moment to snap up some Cyber Monday Deals. I know I will!

Time to get down to business. The Mobile Nations Community Update for November, 2015 goes... NOW!

Community Spotlights

If you haven't read any of Android Central's Android History articles yet... what the heck are you waiting for? This series has been absolutely amazing, and are MUST READS if you love Android. Trust me - read them - you'll be smarter for it. Some other great stuff from this month includes AC's OnePlus X Review, a Nexus 6P vs LG G4 vs V10 comparison, Oh, and grab yourself an Android Ornament t-shirt while you're at it, ok? :)

As usual, plenty of awesome gadgety goodness on Connectedly. Some of my favorites from the month include the World's most affordable Wi-Fi smartbulbs, quick custom-fit wireless earphones, Time's Gadget of the Year, and a look at the Raspberry Pi Zero. Keep it locked to Connectedly for more great stuff as we head into the holiday shopping season!

On CrackBerry, it's all about the BlackBerry Priv these days, and why not!? Now that the Android-powered device is available, our community forums are absolutely lit up with all sorts of chatter. Some of my favorite forum discussions include our official 'I got my Priv!' discussion, and pictures and videos taken with the BlackBerry Priv. That said, the BlackBerry 'Vienna' made an appearance earlier in the month. You can find more details on this rumored device (with always-present physical keyboard) right here.

The team at iMore have been busy churning out some amazing guides, reviews, and how-to's this past month. Some of my favorites include the iMore Holiday Gift Guide, the Apple TV (2015) review, and how to extend battery life on the iPad Pro. Speaking of the iPad Pro, if you already have one in-hand, you're going to want to check out our iPad Pro page and iPad Pro Forum. Both are jam-packed full guides, reviews, recommendations and perhaps most importantly - answers to your questions. Be sure to keep it locked to iMore as we push into the holiday season.

Windows Central has been covering the heck out of the Lumia 950 and 950 XL lately - and for good reason. The community is loving these phones, and can't stop talking about them in our forums. In fact, the Lumia 950 forum and Lumia 950 XL forum are two of the most popular forums on Windows Central over the last 30 days. For more on these phones, I recommend Daniel's Lumia 950 review, and Lumia 950 XL first impressions.

Bill (B. Diddy) is one of our most awesome members. We took notice of him some time ago, and quickly named him an Android Central Ambassador (due to his general awesomeness and dedication to the community). Chances are if you frequent the Android Central Forums, you've received a kind welcome from B. Diddy, or perhaps a speedy answer to a question you may have had.

He is always up for a challenge and willing to lend a hand at a moments notice. I really enjoy and appreciate the way he looks at things. In fact, if you look at his Passport profile here on Mobile Nations, you'll notice a quote: 'No problems... only solutions'. I think that pretty much sums Bill up. He's always eager and willing to provide help, and if there's a problem, he's on it right away uncovering solutions that work for all.

Bill, on behalf of Mobile Nations, our volunteers and millions of members, I'd like to thank you for everything you do. Your time and efforts welcoming new members and helping others with problems is appreciated - and perhaps more importantly the manner in which you carry yourself is truly an example to us all.

Until next time…

November, we hardly knew you. Now that Black Friday is over and Cyber Monday madness is ongoing - I'm looking forward to spending more time with family and friends. I hope you are too.

The coming month will no doubt be filled with all sorts of tech and gadgety goodness (as usual) - and you can count on our team to support your passion with more deals, guides, and how-to's to get the most out of your new tech. On top of this our communities are standing by - chock full of helpful members waiting to help with questions, guides, and great conversation. Don't be shy - dive in and join us.

All that said, CES is just around the corner and preparations are well underway. I hope you're looking forward to the event as much as I am. If you're planning to be in Las Vegas in January, drop me a note — I'm always happy to stop by and say hello!

That's it for this edition. Talk with you again before the new year.

Be awesome,
