Google announces four new Chromebooks under $249, aimed towards those on a budget

Google has just announced four new additions to the Chromebook family, all of them priced under $249.

The Chromebook lineup has again grown, this time with additions from Hisense, Haier, and two new Asus models, all priced under $250. Google's announcement included the ASUS Chromebook Flip, the ASUS Chromebook C201, the Hisense Chromebook and the Haier Chromebook 11.

All of the new models are fast, lightweight, and will bring all day battery life as well. Internally the devices should all be rather similar, featuring a Rockchip 3288 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of flash memory. They will all come equipped with a 720P front-facing camera, along with two USB 2.0 ports, microSD slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and more.

Amazon will be selling the Haier Chromebook 11, while Walmart will carry the Hisense Chromebook, both priced at $149 and will be available mid-April. As for the additions from Asus, the C201 starts at $169, while the Chromebook Flip comes in at $249. Both Asus models will be available later this spring on Amazon.
