LG's latest handset for China, dubbed the G3 Beat, may well be the oft-rumored G3 mini. The device, which was launched at a trade exhibition in China, boasts the G3 branding as well as a design that is similar to that of the faux metal back of the original G3.
If this device does indeed turn out to be the G3 mini, it will be the largest "mini" variant ever launched. With a screen size of 5 inches, the G3 Beat is only marginally smaller than the standard G3. While there may not be a lot of difference in the size between the handsets, there is a huge divide in terms of screen quality, as the G3 Beat sports a 720p display to the 2K IPS panel used in the G3.
Other specs of the device include a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP camera at the back and a 2 MP front shooter along with a 2,450 mAh battery. The G3 Beat also features dual-SIM connectivity along with TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, CDMA2000, and GSM network support.
The G3 Beat is ablated to hit China Telecom later next month for 2,500 RMB (~ $400), with no mention of wider availability.
