Earlier there were no news for the release date of the Sony's most awaited console the Playstation 4. Sony being a Japanese Company didn't specified any specific dates for the launch of the Playstation 4 in Japan and everyone was quite shocked when they heard this news because every PlayStation device in the past – from PSone and PS2 to PS3, PSP, and Vita – came out first in Japan but unfortunately the PS4 didn't.
So finally the wait is over for JAPAN as they have got the official release date of the Playstation 4 that is February 22 (or 2.22) which is shown in the commercial from SONY itself.
The delay in Japan for the Playstation 4 is because gaming landscape has changed, and Sony decided to use its limited supply of PlayStation 4s to wage war in the west, where a majority of its sales are made. Sony may take for granted that it will win the war in Japan by default, but either way, it was wise to take the PS4 units that may have been allocated for Japan and instead bring them west.
Playstation 4 has already sold 2.1 million copies until now and has became the fastest ever selling console in the history. PlayStation 4 launched in North America on November 15th and Europe on November 29th and in Japan it will arrive almost after 3 months of the official release in other regions.
